Federico Jordán-Gómez (b. 1969) is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in northeastern Mexico. His work, spanning over 35 years of career, encompasses ceramics, painting, printmaking, documentary photography, performance, and illustration.
Today, his artistic practice explores the poetics and hierophany behind signs, processes, materials, and the impermanence of things. These actions arise from the pneumatology and anthropology of the remote peoples of the Coahuila desert.
In 2023, he founded his platform Editorial Naufragio, alongside Valdemar Ayala, an editorial focused on presenting his artistic work and projects. He has collaborated on academic editions with the School of Visual Arts in New York (SVA NY), and his work has been exhibited in national and international galleries and museums.
Jordán-Gómez is an epigone of the artist José Salat Figols from the Antigua Academia de San Carlos, and his illustration work has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Pentagram Design, among others.

SIN TIERRA - LANDLESS (2019-2020)

Landless by Federico Jordán-Gómez is the exhibition of a pilgrim.
From drawing on the earth of vacant lots with an old agricultural tool (Plough. 2018-2019), to exploring the remote location of Marte, Coahuila, along with curator Aurora Berrueto (Mars: Memories to Forget. 2017).
Now Jordán-Gómez explores the De Profundis hall of this Capuchin nun convent, placing a series of stations that flank this 18th-century stone path, which its inhabitants licked in penance.
Video documentation of these actions is by Jessica Nieto Araiza.
